Kept From Trials

Revelation 3:10   (KJV)   10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Revelation 3.10 - Kept from Trials - 2The hour of temptation—the great time of testing will come, but we as God’s people need not worry or fear; God will protect us.

We’re not sure if this is a reference to the much debated Great Tribulation. Whether or not it is, we will still undergo this hour of temptation. Hearing such can naturally cause fear. The truth can be very daunting. Praise God, He gave us a very comforting promise–His much needed protection; He will keep us. He need not promise more. His protection is enough to carry us through no matter how horrible the events will be.

Dear Lord, You are a very powerful and present help at all times. You never leave us or forsake us. We’re comforted by the truth that whatever comes our way, no matter how difficult or scary they may be, You will be with us as our impenetrable shield. In You, we are and will always be safe.

Rapture and Tribulation

Revelation 12:12   (KJV)   12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Two things are happening here simultaneously; there is rejoicing in the heavens and those who live there, and there is woe to the inhabitants of the earth. This may very well Revelation 12.12 - Rapture and Tribulationbe referring to the Tribulation or Great Tribulation period that will be coming to earth.

There are many reasonable theories presented and forwarded when it comes to the timing of the “catching away” of the church more familiarly referred to as the rapture. I’m aware that there are some very well-meaning Christians who take offense in the term “rapture,” but however we feel about it, it’s indisputable: the church will be caught up.

Prior to the unleashing the devil’s wrath here on earth, the Scriptures declare: “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne” (Revelation 12:5). The “she” here is often interpreted as the nation of Israel, and the “child” as the church. Clearly, the child will be “caught up” before the devil and his angels lose their battle against Michael and his angels, and gets thrown down to earth (see Revelation 2:7-11).

Whether or not the interpretation about the woman and the child is correct, the truth remains: during the unleashing of the devil’s wrathful tantrum here on earth because of his defeat, there will be rejoicing in heaven, and a catching away will happen first,

Let’s faithfully walk before the Lord, and diligently live out our mission—reaching out to the unsaved and discipling the saved, as we humbly and joyfully look forward to our Lord and His return.

Kept from Tribulation

Revelation 3.10 - Kept from TrialsRevelation 3:10   (KJV)   10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Patience is virtue; there are great rewards for those who go through life with great patience. The Lord Himself favors the patient. To be kept from the greatest trials and temptations that are about to come to the world is one of the greatest blessings God’s people can experience. We know horrible times are coming, troubles and chaos such as the world has never yet seen or will see again. Our imaginations of the horrors that are about to come fail in comparison to reality.

God is love; God is also just. Inasmuch as He doesn’t want anyone to perish but for everyone to be saved, there are those who choose folly; they’re heard-headed and hard-hearted; they have intense hatred for God Who have intense love for them. Inasmuch as God patiently waits and delays His coming so that the world has more opportunities and time to return to His love, freedom, salvation and protection, there will certainly be a day of reckoning.

We don’t deny the sufferings God’s people and the world are experiencing, sufferings of different degrees. Our hearts break for our fellowmen and women who are undergoing the plagues of hardship even now. We all have our share. As God’s people, this is a part of our lot. We suffer; not one of us is exempt from it. Our best efforts and behavior won’t win everyone. There are those who’ve been blinded by lies and deceits. They stab us deep despite our deep love for them. They enjoy the blessings of our love, goodness, and godliness, but they’re heartless; they keep hurting us without an iota of guilt or remorse.

But we are patient; a day is coming when we’ll be redeemed from every form of suffering. Right now, we are redeemed from sin; that’s enough for us to continue our journey of love, joy, peace, and freedom.
