Heavens Proclaim God’s Glory

Psalms 19:1   (NLT)   The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.

Psalm 19.1 - Heavens Proclaim God's GloryWe are inundated by testimonies of God’s reality, existence, love, power, and wisdom. We look up to the heavens and we see greatness there. We look up to the sky and we see precision, order, beauty, skillful work of art. Not everyone comes to the same conclusion, but I can’t help but see glory and majesty behind them all.

Creation is a silent yet very visible evangelist pointing us to God. We have to just be more observant and more conscientious of the beauty and the marvels surrounding us. If God could create such awesome wonders, and sustain them throughout all ages, how can He not take good care of us? He is more willing and able to care for us than we think.

Dear God and heavenly Father, God of creation, thank You for leaving us more than sufficient proofs and demonstrations of You. I pray that we’ll be more aware of Your constant presence, of Your immense and tremendous power, of your unfailing love, your inscrutable wisdom, and the universe-size billboard flashing those truths continuously—in Jesus’ Name, amen.

Listen Well

Mark 4:24   (KJV)   24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

The measure of our understanding has very much to do with the measure of our hearing. The more intentional and sincere our listening is, the more understanding we Mark 4.24 - Listen Wellreceive. Understanding, discernment, illumination—all these are from our gracious God, but it’s not an encouragement to passivity or laziness; it’s an invitation to enjoyment of our undeserved participation in His wonderful works.

The principle is God-established; it does us well when we zealously take it to heart. To whom much is given, much is required. It’s a circular blessing and response design: the more we heed what we hear, the more understanding we’re given; the more understanding we have; the more we ought to hear. If we don’t use our gifts, we lose them; if we use them, God multiplies them; if we use them for God’s Kingdom, God multiplies them greatly.

Our God is omniscient; there’s no secret He’s not privy to. He’s never at lost as to any kind of information or knowledge. He knows exactly how to approach every situation. No problem’s too big that He can’t solve; no question’s too hard that He can’t answer; no situation is too messed up that He can’t find a solution for. He has the authority, the power, and the willingness to share with us a necessary slice of His infinite knowledge and wisdom. And it’s an awesome privilege to be honored recipients of such assuring and extremely important blessing.

The Real Deal

Luke 24:44   (KJV)   44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

The omniscience of God is noticeably alluded to. He can predict the end from the beginning. That’s what clearly sets Him apart as God. Yes, there’s a spirit of divination working behind many people making correct predictions, but most of their predictions are no more than just calculated and educated guesses. What makes our God awesomely luke-24-44-the-real-dealunique is His 100% accuracy in His predictions and prophecies. No one ever comes close. In His love, He shares to us slices of His knowledge and foreknowledge. He wants our paths lit well; He doesn’t want us groping lost in the dark. He reveals His will and ways to us—not all of them, but all we need to know.

The most perfect revelation of God is our precious Lord Jesus. He’s God’s perfect representation. Whoever sees Him sees the Father; that’s as perfect of a representation as perfect can be. He was God’s mouthpiece in preparing His disciples for what awaited them. He revealed His genuineness and the truths about Him to His followers. He showed them that He was the fulfillment of God’s revelations found in the Scriptures—all over the Scriptures. The affirmations, proofs, and supports aren’t from one witness; it’s from Moses, the prophets, the Psalmists, the apostles, and a lot more—many of them were eyewitnesses, their words accurately backed by a great deal of experiences.

We are extremely blessed and privileged as His people; we are helped tremendously by our infinitely more than able God. We are very limited in our perception; we operate within the limits of temporal time, matter, and space. To navigate through life, we do better when we see things from “bird’s eye view,” and more. Praise God; we have God who sees way well than birds do. Hahaha. We don’t see beyond the natural; He does. We don’t see the future, but He does. We’re limited, but He isn’t. That’s why we trust Him. That’s why we trust His Son. They’re the real deal. Case closed. We believe.

One True God

Isaiah 40:25
(KJV)   To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

Isaiah 40.25 - One True GodNo one compares with God; no one is His equal. Whatever angle we look at, whatever category, whatever area, He is infinitely set apart. He’s the only true living God. Aside from Him, there is no other. He is Holy; He is High and lifted up; He’s also close to us, and He cares tremendously for us.

God is absolutely awesome. He never fades, never weakens, and never dies. He’s our creator and sustainer. What power! He keeps the universe in order; He manages this world; He takes great care of you and me. His Son came as a really great additional proof of all these. He is the exact representation of Who He is. Through His sinless life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection, we see God’s holiness, power, wisdom, and love very clearly.

We look at the sun, the moon, the stars; we see majesty. We look at the ocean, the mountains, the flowers; we see beauty. We look at the mother, the father, the baby; we see love. God is the ultimate expression of all these. His majesty far transcends the universe; His beauty far transcends all the flowers of the field; His love far transcends all our human love. The one true God is Holy; there is no evil or sin in Him. We understand why we have innate sense of good and evil. This is true to all of us. God is all-powerful; He is the Creator. We’re not at lost as to how everything existed out of nothing. God is all-wise; He is responsible for the order we see all around; we’re not worried about the planets colliding on each other. God is all-loving. He gave us His beloved Son; now we are saved; now, anyone can be saved.

God to Obey

Deuteronomy 26:17  (KJV)   17 Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:

People can choose who they will worship as God. Their choice will determine how they relate to their God/god. If they chose the LORD God, it follows that they need to submit to Him, listen to Him and obey Him. One of the natures of the LORD God is sovereignty. He rules supreme. We don’t command Him; He commands us. He’s not the One to obey His people; His people obey Him.

A god we can control proves he’s no god at all. God by essence is the greatest, most powerful, most exalted Being. He’s neither our servant nor our slave. He tells us what to do; we follow. That’s just a sensible arrangement. He sees the end from the beginning; isn’t He the most qualified to give us direction? He sees and knows all things; wouldn’t He know the best for us? He knows everything in and about us, what we’re able and unable to do, our joys and our sorrows, our triumphs and our trials, our struggles and our successes, our needs and our treasures. He knows how to deal with us perfectly. And knowing that He loves us so greatly, that’s a huge plus; we can trust that all His commands for us are for our greatest welfare.

Our perfect God, thank You for showing us the way to You – that we may meet You and know You and believe in You – the one true God. It would have been a disaster had we missed out on You. Ahhh, I can’t imagine the emptiness and horrors of finding ourselves worshiping a wrong entity. You are God – the only true God. Being God, you ought to be obeyed. Knowing that You’re God omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, immutable, holy, just and loving, that definitely and infinitely multiplies the reasons for us to heed Your Word and live in them, – in Jesus’ Name, amen.
