Return to God

Isaiah 30:18
 (KJV)

18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Praise God; He is merciful, gracious, and patient with us. He doesn’t carry out the corresponding consequence or punishments for our sins right away; HReturn to Gode gives us time to turn away from our foolishness and sins, and to turn back to Him. He waits; He doesn’t control us like robots. He’s our help and hope even when our troubles are brought about by our own wrong or ungodly choices. He loves us; He prefers us to repent and return to Him and the blessed life of being His rather than for us to go down the road of destruction and suffer in it.

When a person or a nation prospers, there’s a huge tendency to be complacent, even forgetting God Who’s the very Source of all its blessings. There are those who even proudly and brazenly fight against Him; they don’t realize the lunacy and the danger of taking that position. God alone is unbeatable; no one’s exempt from disaster; no one’s invincible—no matter how powerful they are. It’s best to come to Him and to be on His side. Why suffer a disastrous fate of having no sufficient protection from enemies bent on our destruction? And as much as we would like to believe that we don’t have enemies, we do. Enemies aren’t there to make our lives beautiful. We as believers love them, but they don’t necessarily share our virtues and convictions. They would rather take what we have, kill us, or destroy us.

Instead of going the direction that leads farther from the Lord; we run towards Him. No matter how powerful our enemies are, God can handle them. And to depend on another superpower, be it a man or a nation or a group of nations, void of God, is to have a misplaced faith. We experience full victory only with God. Everything, without Him, no matter how great they seem, is really nothing. Everything, with God, no matter how awful they seem, is really something. If only everyone knows how it is to be under the protective, gracious, powerful, victorious, and loving arms of our heavenly Father. He forgives, restores, and revives. So yes, it’s best to be with Him than to be against Him.

Blessed Nations

Isaiah 26:15 (KJV)

15 Thou hast increased the nation, O Lord, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

The greatness of a nation—any nation is from the Lord. The land, the beauty, the majesty, the culture, the people, the progress—everything good about us is from Him. We all have come a very long way from our humble beginnings. We humbly bow our hearts and thank Him. We honor HiGod Holding the Worldm; we glorify Him. Yes, there are those who turn away from God, but not us. Perish the thought. We may be few; it doesn’t matter; we remember the Lord our God. We acknowledge Him.

Nations have gone through and go through difficult challenges. Most of us are still here. Bless the Lord; He saves. And a person, a people, a nation trusting in Him will be vindicated. There are those who mock us, insult us, threaten us, attack us, but we have peace; that indescribable peace also comes from Him. Perfect peace comes from Him alone. It’s futile to trust in any imperfect human being to get us there. We pursue peace when it’s at all possible; we know it will come, but the ultimate peace we pursue will be realized only when the perfect, holy, righteous, powerful, just, loving Peron rules. We know of only One.

The life of the righteous, the true believers, despite all the struggles and challenges, despite unpopularity and ridicule, it’s really the best. In the middle of all unrest, we have rest; in the middle of impending chaos, we have peace; in the middle of possible world and cosmic destruction, we look forward to a new heaven and a new earth. We enjoy what we have right now. We don’t have everything, but we have everything we need. Again, He’s the Source. That’s the truth. To deny that is to live in a lie, deception, and delusion. We choose truth. That’s why blessed is a nation whose God is the LORD; it’s a blessing to move in truth.

We are blessed as a nation. We continue to acknowledge our Creator Who has endowed us with all our wonderful inalienable rights and blessings. To do that is to live in ever-increasing blessings. To forego of that state isn’t wise. We stand on what’s wise. If it all comes down to a very few of us—a remnant; there will be: us. We who are called by God’s Name humble ourselves; we call on Him; we seek His face and greater intimacy with Him; we pursue righteousness. He hears; He forgives; He heals—even the ills of a once godly nation.
