Longer Route

Exodus 13:17

17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

When things take longer than we expect, it may be because the short route  is extremely dangerous; God is sparing us from potential discouragement.

The shorter distance may not always be the quicker way.

Slow but sure, better safe than sorry; unnecessary risks are exactly that–unnecessary.

We trust God; He knows the way to take.

We can trust God for directions; He created the locations.

God knows where we’re coming from; where we ought to go; how to get there.
